NAIJA HEALTH SECTOR NEEDS TO REGAIN THE LOST TRUST AND APPROACHABILITY

Imagine this ethereal state of a Government owned health institution which is the progeny of the ongoing national health workers strike action, looking like a graveyard. We claimed to be curbing the menace of maternal health/still-birth, what if a pregnant woman was brought to the above health institution and met it in such a state, imagine the added labour stress and financial implication of going to a private health institution.

It’s time for Government to see the Health Sector as the most supreme, strike action should be avoided in the sector because, it’s about life.

If atypically, Government can’t meet up with the health workers requirements instantly, dialogue is key. I said atypically because, Government has the capacity to address these issues, we just need to stop the shillyshally/ambivalence and change the stickers "instanta" which is simply diversification processes.

This strike action that had gone over a week; imagine the complications of health appointments, some might have died.

There’s need to work towards regaining the lost trust, approachability and maintain assiduosness in Nigeria Health Sector as many have opted for the private health institutions which is life threatening due to the high cost.

The Health Sector is the most supreme because it’s about life, it needs proper funding to keep life going.

There are avoidable deaths secularly with proper resources at these health institutions so, lets promote #FundNaijaHealth.

Let's keep collaborating with MamaYe- Evidence for Action as nudgers towards making our Health Sector tangible.

"Less-funding the Health Sector is somehow temerity in nature because it's about life."
