DEMOCRACY AND THE NIGERIAN HEALTH SECTOR



As Abraham Lincoln defined it, Democracy is the Government of the People, by the People and for the people.

In a lay man's language, the third simply means well-being of the people of which, health is the most supreme because it’s about life.

Is our Nigeria Democracy really for the People?

Imagine, Nigeria, a country being tagged the giant of Africa where lackadaisical best described her Government’s attitude towards her indigent health sector.

With the current state of the health sector, where the workers who are to hold the knives and scissors are on strike for over 2weeks, can we really say dividends of Democracy is being enjoyed in Nigeria!

Can we assume the number of lives that might have been lost or discombobulated, complicated health issues due to the ongoing health workers strike action!

It’s time for the Government to start implementing what Democracy really entails by funding the necessary channel which manages lives.

#FundNaijaHealth, it’s the utmost dividend of Democracy.
